Four staff members of the industry-leading ventilation hygiene, system surveying and extract cleaning company, Ventilation Surveys & Services Ltd, recently attended a National Duct Cleaning Academy (NDCA) ‘Kitchen Duct Cleaning Operatives Course’. Run by IAQ Consultancy Services, the course modules covered topics such as industry-specific regulations, system components and testing protocols.
Designed as competency training, the course helps operatives within the industry with a practical bias who want to gain the skills and knowledge needed to undertake kitchen duct cleaning contracts.
George Friend, Chief Operations Officer, VSS, said: “In this industry, too many kitchen extract systems are not being cleaned at a quality which reflects the National standards. In the interest of keeping staff and the general public safe, we always go the extra mile to ensure that VSS staff are up to speed with all of the latest industry developments, ensuring maximum competence by those carrying out and managing the work.”
This training, in addition to the recent acquisition of Hygienic Maintenance Limited (HML), underpins VSS’s commitment to improving the extract cleaning and maintenance industry and delivering the highest possible level of service.
Ventilation Surveys & Services Ltd has an impressive 25 years’ worth of experience in its sector, working for businesses of all sizes, from global name organisations to small independents.
In addition to the company's extensive industry experience, Chief Operations Officer, George Friend, was also elected as President of the European Ventilation Hygiene Association (EVHA), and is regarded as a genuine authority in his field, while Chief Executive Officer, Nick Umfreville, is the author of ductwork cleaning guidelines throughout the world.
